Facts & FAQ

Who uses Arcol?

Arcol is for visionary architects and ambitious architecture, engineering and construction professionals who are constrained by archaic and outdated AEC software.

What does Arcol mean?

Our name is a collaborative design of its own — a portmanteau that fuses the ‘Ar’ from architecture with the ‘col’ from collaboration.

When was Arcol developed?

Our team kicked off product development in 2021 and is partnering closely with leading design firms on each step of our journey to revolutionizing BIM.

Who is the founder of Arcol?

Paul O’Carroll is the founder of Arcol. He is the son of a passionate architect, and he racked up some first-hand industry experience at the start of his career as well. He is deeply familiar with the frustrating workflows and tools that have defined the building design experience over the last few decades — and that’s exactly why set out to build Arcol with a complete overhaul of the foundations and assumptions that existing tools are built on.

How much has Arcol raised?

We have raised approximately $20 million from an incredible roster including Cowboy Ventures, Craft Ventures, Procore CEO Tooey Courtemanche, Figma CEO Dylan Field, and former Mozilla CEO John Lilly.

Where is Arcol located?

Our main office is in New York City and we have incredible remote team members as well. We believe location is just a detail, and we’re always ready to hop on a plane to work with our customers and partners.
